About

EVERY CHILD DESERVES A CHANCE TO PLAY

The Miracle League of Connecticut is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing inclusive, accessible recreational and athletic opportunities for children with physical, cognitive, and developmental challenges. Everything we do is grounded in a simple but powerful belief: every child deserves a chance to play.

What began as a vision to build a fully accessible baseball field has grown into a dynamic, year-round community serving hundreds of families across the state.

A FOUNDATION BUILT FOR INCLUSION

Our original goal—to build a Miracle League Field in West Hartford—has been proudly achieved. Located at the corner of Asylum Avenue and Trout Brook Drive within one of Connecticut’s premier Little League complexes, the field remains a cornerstone of our organization.

As the first fully wheelchair-accessible Miracle League field in New England, it continues to welcome players from across the state for our spring and fall baseball seasons. Alongside the field, our fully accessible playground has become one of the most active and inclusive play spaces in the region.

But today, the field is more than just a place to play baseball—it’s a hub for connection, confidence, and community.

A TIME TO GROW

The Miracle League of Connecticut has evolved well beyond baseball into a broader provider of inclusive programming designed to meet the diverse needs of our athletes and families.

Our current and expanding programs include:

  • Spring and Fall Miracle League Baseball – Our flagship program continues to grow, with more athletes, volunteers, and community partners each season.
  • I Can Bike Camp – In partnership with West Hartford Leisure Services, this transformative summer camp helps children ages 8+ gain the life-changing skill of riding a two-wheel bicycle independently.
  • Adapted Swim Lessons – In collaboration with the Mandell JCC, providing critical water safety and confidence-building skills.
  • Community Events – Including Movie Nights, Parent’s Night Out, and our signature “Trick or Treat – Miracle League Style”, which brings together dozens of local organizations to create a safe, accessible Halloween experience for hundreds of children and families.

LOOKING AHEAD

As we continue to grow, our focus is on expanding both programming and access.

Program Expansion

We are actively exploring new opportunities to serve our athletes year-round, including:

  • Additional adaptive sports and recreational offerings
  • Expanded social and life-skills programming
  • Increased partnerships with schools, community organizations, and healthcare providers

Strengthening Access Through Partnership

While we are proud to be home to Connecticut’s first Miracle League field, we know that access matters.

We are actively working to:

  • Partner with other Miracle League and adaptive sports programs across Connecticut
  • Support and strengthen existing community-based opportunities
  • Help families connect with programs closer to home whenever possible

Our goal is simple: remove barriers to participation and ensure that more children and families can experience the joy of inclusive play.
