2003 – The Beginning
Fairness in Youth Sports is founded
Fairness in Youth Sports, Inc. is established with one guiding principle: “Everybody Plays.”
West Hartford Little League is created with equal playing time for all athletes at its core.
2005 – Expanding Opportunity
Challenger Division launches A Challenger Division team is formed, giving athletes with developmental challenges the chance to play organized baseball.
2005–2007 – A Critical Realization
“Even with opportunity on the field, not every child could access it.”
Traditional grass fields present barriers for athletes with physical and complex developmental challenges. A
deeper need becomes clear: true accessibility.
The Vision Changes Everything
Miracle League of Connecticut is formed The organization is created to build a fully barrier-free environment where every child can experience the joy of team sports.
2008 – Community Comes Together
“A vision shared by families, businesses, and community partners became a reality in motion.”
Fundraising begins to build a dedicated Miracle League field in West Hartford.
A Community Achievement
Over $800,000 raised through private donors, corporate partners, philanthropy, and government support.
Anchor donors include Great American Donut/Dunkin and many others.
Fall 2011 – Breaking Ground
Construction begins at the West Hartford Little League complex.
June 2012 – A Milestone Moment

The Miracle League Field opens as:
Featuring a fully accessible field, playground, and facilities.
Growth & Impact
From 100 Baseball Players to 1,000+ kids in many different programs

I Can Bike Program
Teaching independence through adaptive cycling experiences.
2015 – Adapted Swim Lessons
In partnership with the Mandell JCC, expanding access to water safety and recreation.
Community Connection
Movie nights on the field bring families together in an inclusive environment.
Annual Trick-or-Treat Event
“A neighborhood where every child is included.”
More than 40 local organizations create an accessible Halloween experience on the field.
